Top 10 Forum Questions of the Week:

1. ZKS:  Have you ever thought of opening up development to the community, like Valve does? Specifically, letting developers who know what they're doing build "Fan-Made" challenge levels? Releasing 1-2 with each update will allow you to focus on the story/enhancements while keeping hardcore fans entertained between updates.

I think that would be a great idea but an idea that would take a long time to develop, considering the game is only half way done and I haven't even started on multiplayer. Something like this will have to wait unless, you guys the players would want this before multiplayer.

2. Marth: Will we be able to fight Gary and Ash?

Yes and yes! That is all I will say.

3. Garuthebest24: If u were able to live in any region in Pokémon for the rest of your life what will it be?

Kanto Region!

4. Ume: When/Will you give out a Sneakpeak/Demo/Teaser of Hero Tower Defense? >: As in Video xD or a short Flash Game ;3

As soon as we have something we will post it here right away, that picture that you saw at the end of the last HTD tuesday is literally where the game is now. Right now you fight against an endless supply of whelps until your two characters die then that's it. Not a lot to do yet.

 5. Professor Smeargle: Since you can't include all the egg moves for pokemon in Daily codes, how do you plan to incorporate the other Pokémon with egg moves? (eg: Close Combat - Growlithe)

In the daily codes, I will add more in the near future.

6. ultraube: How many hours do you spend on most of these updates?

It's hard to really keep track of it all since I don't have a set schedule but I would say over 20 hours for each update.

7. Dollyface61: Will all of Kimmylube's avatars be in the game?

I'll try to find a way to fit them all when possible, v4.4 will have one :)

8. Cheatfreak208: Have you thought of the idea of Pokémon dropping items, which you can pick up. They would go away after a certain amount of time. And rare candies that have a small rate of falling from Pokémon and which you can not buy.

Pokemon will hold items in the near future, so I suppose if they are holding something and you defeat them that it would drop.

9. Hypermania: Will Kevin, at some point, work on the art for PTD if the chance comes?

He might, but we would rather he make HTD art for the time being.

10. Richard Harper: Hey Sam, Will all the past Postponed items/areas/bugs/extras ever be added? And will it include some of the bugs/suggestions from your own blog page?

Whenever I need to fill in some space on what to add to the game I will look at the suggestions and bugs pages. Most of the time just the story level and level cap can fill up the whole week.

Well that was fun! Head to the forums if you want to submit your question and have them posted next week.

So that's all I have for now, tomorrow will be Hero Tower Defense Tuesday so look forward to that. As always, let me know what you think.

Hey guys, Sam here, v4.2 was released recently, here is a small summary of what is in it.

What's new in v4.2

New Challenge Level - Celadon City Gym, can you win the shiny magnemite without the help of Celebi and not using your own pokemon?
Level Cap up to 50 - New moves are introduced into the game because of this level cap increase.
New Mystery Gift Pokemon -Magnemite and it's evolution Magneton!
17 new moves added to the game.
New Pokemon Evolutions (1) - Magneton.
New TMs
  • Iron Tail
  • Stone Edge
Fixes:
  • Added Aerial Ace to Scyther's TM List
  • Pikachu can now learn and relearn Thunder at level 50
  • Game Corner now takes 5 coins to play, you only get 50 turns, but you win x10 more coins on each prize (80, 150, 1000, 3000) - This change was made to alleviate the server from too many request. Since you only get 50 turns instead of 100.
Where can I play?
Top 10 Forum Questions of the Week:

I talked last week about our community forums merging and adding some new features. One of the features is that every week the forum moderators will gather 10 questions that they want to ask me or Dan and we answer them each week. So here are the questions and answers.

1) xplay10: In the most recent level, "Celadon City", Celebi has mentioned that Mewtwo's triumph will end and won't be coming back for the sequels to come, along with Joey. Do you plan on having Pokemon like Mewtwo in terms of strength become the main villains for the upcoming sequels? If so, will they be shown in PTD following the main storyline?

I haven't decided if I will make a sequel yet, but if I did I would definitely have a strong main villain in the game that compares to Mewtwo. If I do make a sequel it would be a different game so PTD will stop once it reaches it's last level. You won't see the next villain on PTD.

2) Muncho11/Budgetspaner: What is the chance of actually finding a legendary beast (Suicune, Raikou, Entei) in the wild? And will we be able to catch multiple legendaries (Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, Mewtwo), or will it be only one per profile?

I get asked this question about once per day lol. I'm not revealing the exact encounter rate of the Legendary Beast since it can lead to hacking. I'm still deciding on the second part of this question. But I would think that you can't get more than one of each of those per profile. (Unless you trade)

3) blastoise 889: What is your favorite Pokemon?

I have a soft spot for Bulbasaur, since he was my first pokemon. I also like Poliwag, which happens to be the first created pokemon.

4) Trainer Red: Where do you get your inspiration for PTD and what was your first acquaintance with Pokemon?

I've always liked Pokemon since I first saw it on a comic on the Nintendo Power Magazine. I bought the game before it became insanely popular in the States and I've really liked it since but I haven't liked how they have continued to make the same game over and over. I got inspired to make PTD when I noticed a bunch of other Pokemon Apps on the Android Marketplace. I figured I would make a Pokedex or a virtual pet simulator. As I was making the simulator I noticed that I might as well do something more enjoyable. So I saw that the highest grossing android game at the time was a tower defense. Immediately I thought about capturing your enemy and using them as towers.

5) almostpro: Do you plan on changing Pokemon adoption prices? (10 for a starter seems high because all other non-legendary are 5 at most. People would rather buy new game corner Pokemon than starters. I believe there should be a clearer distinction between Pokemon in terms of trade value and I believe dogs and Mews should be different in price as well.)

There is a possibility that the prices might change in the future, but it's not in my plans at this time.

6) gogogogo99: Will you ever let new PTD players get the past mystery gift avatars?

I'll find ways to re introduce the past avatars, without boring the people that already have them.

7) ZKS: Have you ever considered buying your own server? (As an accountant, I see how much my company spends on them. They don't have a massive start up cost, especially since our data is relatively small and upkeep is negligible)

I do have a host that I pay monthly for the server that hold the Pokemon Center, I think the game corner really slowed everything down, but now with the change on it I hope it will help the issue.

8) KimmyLube: Real world question - outside of PTD, what exactly is your real world job?

Outside of PTD, I'm a programmer, I work remotely from home. Hopefully soon I will be able to leave the job and focus completely on Sam and Dan Games.

9) Link: How do you think the cooperation with S&D Central will continue? Do you have any ideas for future cooperation plans?
I think think the cooperation between us and the Forums can only get better from now. I don't have anything specific but I'm sure we can work on some contest :)

10) PokeFan Gen. 1: Since the safari zone will be coming within the next month or so I was wondering will the level layout be similar to Rock Tunnel? With multiple rooms (zones) where you catch certain Pokemon? I feel like safari zone is such a key section it may take two weeks to actually put it together

Yeah the Safari Zone is a big deal, a lot of new pokemon will show up there. Right now I'm thinking of an idea for it that not everybody will get every pokemon but that each profile will get it's own pokemon out of a list. This is to encourage more trading. I also like the idea that your profile is unique from another. The layout itself might be similar to Rock Tunnel or it might be something new.

Well that was fun! Head to the forums if you want to submit your question and have them posted next week.

About Scams:

I want to talk about something that I have been receiving some emails about. I've been receive a lot of emails about people being Scammed. I know that Scams are a terrible thing, but it's one of the things that I really can't stop since most scams aren't doing anything illegal. So here are some tips to protect yourself.
  • If the person wants more than 6 pokemon, avoid the trade unless you personally know this person is trustworthy.
  • Do all trades through the Trading Center's system. Use the request feature that way you know that what you are getting is what it's supposed to be.
  • If the pokemon's picture doesn't show up on the Trading Center then that pokemon is not what it seems to be, do not trade for this pokemon.
I hope that those simple tips can help somebody out there from being Scammed. I can't really help you with scams cause there is really no proof of it happening. For all I know you are trying to scam me!

Hey everybody! Sam here bringing you the goods for this week. Last week I started the update half way during the week so I didn't get to complete the level 50 cap. That will be a priority this week.
Also this week something that is not going to happen that often will happen. The return of a pokemon for the Weekly code. There won't be a new code this week but for v4.2 there will be one. Like I mentioned before I'm bringing the Challenge Mode Celadon Gym level and the prize will be a shiny pokemon. So you get the regular version from the Weekly Code and you get the Shiny from the Challenge Mode. I will leave the pokemon to be a shocking surprise.

Other than that there will be some changes with the casino, I will be reducing the amount of tries per day, increasing how much each play cost but also increasing how you get per day. This will help reduce the server load that many of us have been experiencing.

Another thing is many of you have requested that the potion behave like the pokeball in that it scrolls the screen when you are close to the borders, so I will be adding that on this update also.

Progress List for v4.2:
Level cap increased to 48 (100%)
  • Leaf Blade (100%) - Victreebell
  • Future Sight (100%) - Kadabra/Alakazam
  • Retaliate (100%) - Growlithe
Level cap increased to 49 (100%)
  • Gunk Shot (100%) - Ekans
  • Iron Tail (100%) - Onix
  • Close Combat (100%) - Mankey
  • Hyper Voice (100%) - Jigglypuff
  • Healing Wish (100%) - Clefairy
  • Double Hit (100%) - Scyther
Level cap increased to 50 (100%)
  • Mirror Coat (100%) - Voltorb
  • Last Resort (100%) - Eevee/Vaporeon/Jolteon/Flareon
  • Ancient Power (100%) - Mew
  • Stone Edge (100%) - Geodude
  • Sludge Wave (100%) - Tentacool
New Pokemon for Mystery Code and Challenge Mode (100%) - Magnemite

    • Add this pokemon's stats into the game (100%)
Add Magnemite as a prize for mystery code and challenge mode (100%)
Challenge Mode Level - Celadon Gym (100%)
  • Level Intro (100%)
  • Level Layout (100%)
  • Level Waves (100%)
  • Level Ending (100%)
Game Corner Changes (100%)
Potion Changes (100%)
New TMs (100%)
  • Iron Tail
  • Stone Edge
Bug Fixes (100%)
  • Scyther can now learn Aerial Ace TM (100%) - Thanks to you guys for helping me find this.
Distribution (100%)

The community is a big part of what gives games the extra spark needed to keep them alive even after they have been around for a while. It's been 5 months since Pokemon Tower Defense was released and our community is as big as ever. But a divided community does more harm than good. Having two different forums, adding more chats, all it does is thin out the community. Thankfully the two most popular PTD Forums are going to combine and create one central Sam & Dan Games Forum. The merger is still in progress, once everything is ready to go I will post the link.

My passion is to create games but a huge amount of my time goes into the community. Listening to suggestions, answering emails, taking care of account issues. Dan answers any orders that come in for SnD coins. He answers comments for Hero Tower Defense. We are as open as we possibly can be and the merger of the forum will open new ways for us to connect with you guys. We will have a weekly questions section. You submit your questions on the forums and every week Dan or I will answer the questions and post them on the blog. Another feature that will come to the forums will be that you will be able to suggestions a new feature for the game and every other week the best one will be chosen and I will implement it for the update. Unless it's something that will make the game worse. I can't wait to see this feature play out.

I enjoy working on PTD and HTD, I like the fast schedules, the instant feedback. With every update the game get's closer and closer to completion, the more moves are created the easier it is to increase the level cap and the easier it is to add new pokemon. I always like to think of the next step.

Multiplayer is always a topic that gets brought up every single day. I don't have a lot of experience making a fully working multiplayer system. So in the near future I will be taking the first steps toward the multiplayer with an Avatar Chat. You will be able to use your avatar and move him around while chatting with other players. This will help to get my feet wet and start working ironing out any bugs that might come up.

I constantly ask myself, what will I work on next? Will I make a PTD sequel? If I make a poll the answer will be YES! MAKE A SEQUEL! I don't even doubt that result. I know the demand is there. I haven't fully decided if I will make it or not. After PTD, Hero Tower Defense will be getting the most attention like PTD gets now. But I like working on multiple project so when HTD goes into high gear I will be working behind the scenes on the next big game.

I do however spend some time here and there thinking about what a sequel to PTD would be like. While making a Johto Sequel to PTD is a no brainer, I always like to push myself so what if the sequel wasn't a tower defense game?

I leave you with that, as always let me know what you think, try to keep any account issues away from the blog comments just email me directly. Thanks for the great support that all of you continue to give us to this day.

Welcome to the very first Hero Tower Defense Tuesday!

Sketch of Logo
Like Pokemon Tower Defense, Hero Tower Defense was born from the idea of combining two great things into one package. In this case we want to combine the things we all love the most from MMORPGs into the tower defense formula. Also everything that I've learned from PTD that I know you guys like will make it into the game as well.
What you can expect from the game is:
  • Different classes like: Warrior, Mage, Priest, Rogue, etc.

  • Loot Drops from enemy and bosses.

  • Armor and weapons

  • A unique talent tree for each classes

  • Different races

  • Quest

  • Achievements

  • Crafting

  • Auction House

  • Guilds

  • Raids

  • Co-op

  • Versus

  • Mounts

  • Pets

  • and more!

Just like Pokemon Tower Defense your towers will stay leveled up as your play. At first you start alone but as you beat levels you will meet new companions that you will add to your party and eventually form your own guild and take on bosses.

We have many more details to offer but today I want to talk more about the artist for the game. As some of you might know I sent out a request on the blog for any artist that was interested in joining Dan and I on the quest to create games. Many people applied but we narrowed it down to the top 9 artist, and then we sent them all a challenge. The challenge was to create a "tower" for Hero Tower Defense, we gave them very basic instructions so that they could fill in the holes. One contestant caught our eye and he ended up winning. We saw the other 8 entries and they were good but we felt this one captured exactly what Dan and I wanted to do for Hero TD. Below is his entry for the challenge.

Kevin's Entry for the challenge

Since we picked Kevin he has been hard at work making animations for the tower units and creating armor, each week we will show you a new piece of artwork so look forward to that.

So for the day that we worked on Hero TD I talked to Dan about level maps. There are two types of TD games. Ones like PTD that you have a limited number of spots that you can put your towers and some that any where in the map can be a spot. For HTD we want to do a mix of these two. The enemy will go down his path similar to PTD but in HTD you will have a lot more spots to work with. The reason for more spots is a new mechanic that I thought would be great for the game. I'm calling it the "Chain Buff" mechanic. Let's say you have a Warrior Tank (Tank is a tower designed to take the damage and defend the other towers), and he has a passive buff that makes his health higher. Well if you have any other Tower that is next to this tank tower they will also receive this buff thanks to the "Chain Buff" mechanic. Also if another tower is touch somebody that receive the buff they will also receive it. Thus you can create a chain of towers that will all receive the buff. The drawback is that some enemies will have attacks that will attack everybody in a chain. So you will have to be quick about breaking the chain when those attacks come.

I made some awesome diagrams for you guys below.

Above: Towers are not chained so wizard doesn't get the buff

Above: An Archer is added so all 3 units are now chained and they all receive the buff

Well that's all I have for you today, I hope you enjoyed the post and I can't wait to talk more about and show you more about HTD. Dan told me he was also going to post something on this same post so keep checking back for more. As always let me know what you think!

Dan: Sam covered most of the current topics we discussed together so I'll give you guys some insight into how HTD will progress without hindering the other games and some other tidbits.

As you know Sam works primarily on PTD while I work on Ninja-ja with the addition of Kevin doing most of the HTD graphics. Since I've learned some more about programming from Ninja-ja (sorry for the slow updates btw) I'll be helping Sam out on that end as well as helping Kevin out on graphics. We also both think about HTD's design and concepts while we work on the other games, so while it might seem like we don't have the time we're really just multitasking and doing stuff at the same time. So never fear!

Also something worth mentioning is we want HTD to be a good mix of what we both enjoy the most in games. This works out really well for Sam and I because we lean slightly different ways when it comes to genres and such. While we both enjoy and play all types of games Sam enjoys the more casual games while I enjoy the more hardcore games, but since we have that overlap we know where each other is coming from. This means you can expect HTD to target both casual gamers and hardcore gamers alike. It's a tough task to take on but we're up for it and with everyone's suggestions and ideas, along with our own, we feel we can merge the two successfully. We're excited and think it'll be awesome and we hope you guys do too!

Okay so now for the PTD progress list!

You can play v3.7 now here on the blog, I have to leave for most of the day so the blog post, exe, and apk will be up by tomorrow. Enjoy.

      Thanks to everybody who participated!

You guys voted and now you can change the nickname of a pokemon regardless if you got it from a trade.

Okay so let's talk about the update for this weekend.

We have another story mode level coming. This time we are heading to the Rock Tunnel and all it's darkness, Flash will finally have an "out of battle" use. This also means 2 new pokemon will be added along with their evolutions. Plus regular onix will also show up to be captured.

A new feature that many of you have requested for a long time is finally coming. I will be adding a tower targeting system to the game. You will be able to set your individual towers to specific targeting instructions such as attack first, attack last, attack with candy, etc.. please post your suggestions for good targeting commands on the comments below.

Finally, many of you have talked about alternative ways to get shiny pokemon that don't require extreme luck. So for one of the new pokemon that is coming in the update I will be adding a special quest inside the game that once you finish the quest you will be awarded the shiny version of that pokemon. The quest will be a combination of things that you will have to accomplish, the game will give you clues as to how to do the quest. I hope you guys will enjoy it. Eventually every pokemon will have it's own quest so that you can find it's shiny version. On top of that you can still find shiny pokemon randomly in the while just like you can now.

That's all I have for the update below you will see my progress in completing it, keep checking back during the week to see how I'm doing :)

New Story Level  (100%)- Rock Tunnel - Make your way across the maze-like tunnel and find the exit. Battle against multiple trainers, wild pokemon and a giant onix! The commands are: Regular, Fastest, Slowest, Least Health, Most Health, Super Effective (Super Effective will prioritize target's that your pokemon would be more effective against. For Example Pikachu will now hit Zubats first before he tries to hit geodude if they are all together.), Ignore Red (Ignore pokemon when they have a red bar), Focus Candy (Prioritize pokemon with candy), Ignore Candy (Prioritize pokemon without candy).

Pokemon used or captured on the hacked version of the game will now be tagged with (Hacked Version) on the trading center and will not be eligible as pokemon for any shiny quest requirement. (100%) - This will only affect pokemon that are placed in a spot or captured from v3.5 of the hacked game. Distribution (0%)

So that's what I have so far for the update, like I said before let me know which commands you would like the best in the comments below.

More on Shiny Quest - For people who are worried about all their time searching for shinies being wasted. This shiny quest won't be for a pokemon that was previously in the game. Also the shiny quest isn't going to be easy and will require a lot of effort for example you might need to catch a rare pokemon 10 times in one sitting, or might have to present a pokemon with a certain move. Even beat a level a certain way.to finish the quest. The quest won't be quick and easy I'll make sure of that, the good thing about the quest is that there is a guaranteed prize at the end. You aren't just looking and looking not knowing if it will show up.

          Ideas for the Future
I've come up with an idea that will make it possible to keep all the attack's cooldown at 18 and give them their proper attack power from the handheld games.

The idea is to implement PP.

After a lot of great feedback I've decided to scrap the PP idea, and find a better solution to make it work. Scrapping the PP idea is actually better for me since I don't have to deal with coding that system. If you don't know about the PP idea don't worry about it, chances are you wouldn't like it.

Instead I'm going to do something with pokemon abilities. Basically the more your pokemon attacks or gets attacked (think street fighter 4 meters) the more rage it will build. Once you have a full rage bar you can use that pokemon's ability! I'll be looking at what abilities the games use for each pokemon but I will tweak them or completely change them into something that will be extremely useful in the game. For example when using Bulbasaur to defend you might want to use his Overgrow ability which would remain similar to the game. Once you fill up your meter and use the ability his damage will gain a great boost for a limited time. But if you are attacking then you might use Chlorophyll which I would change into not only giving you a speed boost but also heals you as well. These abilities will also have a passive component to them. So for overgrow if your pokemon gets damaged and only has very little life left then the ability will trigger for a short amount of time (abilities will have cooldown). So they will be passive yet if you build up your rage meter you can unleash a stronger version of the ability whenever you feel like.

For the moves to keep their original values and have relatively close cooldowns (some will be slightly lower or slightly higher) I will have to implement: being able to miss, being able to take recoil damage, being able to heal yourself (moves like absorb), towers being able to get status effects like paralysed and confused.

So what do you think? As always leave me comments below about what you think.

          • Inventory Section in the Pokemon Center (Previously known as the Trading Center)
          • A million and one bug fixes and additions.
          Where can I play?
This update was really big! I added a little bit of everything and I hope you guys can enjoy everything. I wanted to share my thoughts and really kind of explain what's going on.

If you had an account before v3.2 then you won't be able to transfer it anymore to v3.4, you will have to start a new account.

I think the last couple of weeks have been really rough on the game, you guys, and me. It's been rough for everybody. Long security updates, losing accounts, losing pokemon.. many sacrifices have been made for a better future. I want to apologies for any lost progress that you might have experienced.

Now is the time to learn from the mistakes and once again move forward.

Adding temporary pokemon that only lasted a week, while fun for some, was overall not the best experience and did more harm than good. I promise never to give you a pokemon then take it away.

So let's talk a little about the update.

Note: The no whirlwind achievement is bugged, the only way to get it is to beat the level with no whirlwind but only have one candy left.

Level cap up to 42, so you have something to do :), some new attacks for your old pokemon.

From now on all the story levels will have your avatar show up, also you can now earn new avatars from beating the new challenge levels and completing achievements (Note: the new achievements are for the challenge level not the story level). Not only that but you can change your avatar by going to the inventory which takes you to the pokemon center (previously known as the trading center), log in there and click on the profile and you will see a new inventory section. You can even change from boy to girl and back again!

On this level I wanted the pokemon to have a lot of HP so that they would be hard to kill. You really have to use type advantages and everything you can to beat the level. (Note: Thanks to you guys for pointing out the whirlwind bug on this level I will take a look at it.)

This update also introduced HMs Cut and Flash. Both can be used in battle and they will also serve other purposes. Flash will be used to light up dark caves and cut is used to cut down odd looking trees. The new NPC trade pokemon will require Cut to get.

I added new popup boxes when a shiny pokemon shows up. The popup box will stop the game for 3 seconds until it disappears. You can also click the box and it will go away. Achievements have a similar box that will show up. The reason for this box is that before if you completed the achievement and the server was busy you wouldn't get the achievement. Now if the server is busy you will have another chance at saving that achievement. It is also good so that you know if you go the achievement or not.

          WILD DOG INFO!!!
          • Dogs are in the wild, a really low chance of getting them on any story level.
          • They will have red health but they won't be shiny.
          • There is no shiny version of them, and there won't be until this game gets a sequel.
          • You will get a popup when they enter the level.
          • You can get multiple, if you happen to be that lucky.

I really hope that you guys enjoy this update, I'll be posting again tomorrow about the next update coming up.

Here is a video for the contest! (Thanks Graphic Force!)

The reason many of you couldn't save is that the server that I'm paying for only allows 150 connections on at the same time. So I payed for an upgrade to the server to allow double that. The upgrade takes about 24 hours so you will be seeing the difference soon.

I think that the auto-save is saving too often I will be moving it so that it saves after the level is finished and when you press back on the "Mode select" screen. Right now when you enter the "Mode" Screen it will save automatically I will change it so it happens when you press back from that screen. Meaning when you go back to your profile selection.

Also I will add a manual save button in the "Mode" screen that way if you feel unsure you can just manually save. These changes should lower the amount of saving going on thus decreasing the server load and reducing all problems with saving.

Okay moving on. The poll seems to be busted (No, you aren't the only person that voted everybody is seeing their vote as the only one). But I'm pretty sure nobody is against and Experience Gain and Shiny Encounter Rate boost for this week coming week only. The reason for this is many people weren't saving their profile online and when this new version came out they ended up losing a lot of their progress. This boost will help you get back to where you were before.

The boost will be 50% more experience on all kills.
Shiny Rate will go from 0.1% to 0.4% that is four times more likely to find a shiny.

Both of these will go back down for the update after.

This update I hope will be really exciting! There will be a one week only event and you will have a chance to fight and use legendary pokemon. There will be 3 mystery code hunts this weekend one for each of the legendary dogs. After the week is over the legendary dogs will no longer be available and will be removed from everybody's account. The point of having them is to have a fun one time event, and being able to have pokemon with massive power. I hope you guys enjoy it.

On top of that there will be a new story level, featuring the S.S. Anne, and a gym battle so I hope you guys can enjoy that.

Before I forget to mention, we added a new way to get Ninja-ja: Apprentice Edition for free. Click on this link or go to the "Get Ninja-ja" page and click on the get it free button. Basically if you can complete any of the offers on that page then you get the game for free. If you guys want me to have this available for the other version of the game let me know.

Also soon we will have a completely free version of Ninja-ja that doesn't include any of the prizes, so look forward to that also.

Last I leave you with the progress list:

Increase Experience Gain by 50% (100%)

Increase Shiny Rate by 300% (Thanks Macmads!) (100%) - The shiny rate is now 0.4% for this update.

              • Graphics (100%)

                • Ninetails will now be able to relearn Nasty Plot while Arcanine will no longer be able to relearn it. (100%)
                • Fixed Flamethrower and Hydro Pump hitting everybody with the same damage as the target. (Example: If your flamethrower target was a water pokemon it would hit everybody with weaker damage and it would show as hitting everybody with the "not effective" color.) (100%)

Okay I finally got all the fixes together, plus a couple more.

NOTE: It is no longer possible to save on v3.2

                    Version 3.2.2 contains:
                    • Autosaving when you reach the "Mode Menu", along with at the end of each level. It won't be possible to accidentally reset your save and lose data.
                    • All achievement prizes are now reset so if you finished them before you will get 3 new rewards, this is to compensate the people that lost their rewards because of not saving.
                    • You can now log off. This will let you have multiple accounts at once.
                    • The achievement "Star Wars" now works again.
                    • Fixed some issue with creating a new account and logging in.
                    • The game can now be played on browsers that don't let flash save data locally. The only downside is that you need to put your log in information every time you play.
                    Where can I play?
                    EXE version is now available!

The trade center is still being built, please have patience.

I've got something pretty cool planned out for this weekend's update. It will be a one week only event! I'll be putting up a progress list soon. Let me know what you think.

                    Weekly Progress! Mid-week edition.

Welcome to this week's edition of the Weekly Progress, I'm your host Sam Otero here bringing you the goods! But first a word from our sponsors!

Want to play Ninja-ja? Get a shiny pikachu, shiny mew, shiny starter, shiny magikarp or have your suggestion for a weapon design to be used on Ninja-ja? Click here for more info on how you can get those things.

Okay we are back on air and ready to roll. If you have read my past blogs you will know that right now I'm concentrating on security, so this week's update will be all about that. Unfortunately new content will have to wait while I make the game secure.

But just like last week I will squeeze in a new pokemon hunt along with a new achievement. The pokemon hunt and achievement will be like before the hunt will get you the non shiny version and the achievement will get you the shiny version and also like last week it will be a pokemon that you can't capture in the game currently. I will post a poll with 3 possible achievement challenges and you guys will decide what gets in the game.

Speaking of achievements, I made a change on my achievement server code. Now you can receive the achievement reward 3 times! You only have to do the achievement once for all your profiles but now you get 3 rewards instead of just one. Enjoy! Note: This works right now on v3.1.5, you don't have to wait for the new update to receive the rewards.

Also I wanted to publicly thank a good friend Haplo the owner of Haplo Rp Haven for helping me basically cut out most of the regular and shiny pokemon sprites. Thanks Haplo!

                    What's coming this weekend:
                    • Must have an online profile to play. (100%)
                    • Internet required to log into the profile (100%)
                    • Auto Saving online (100%) - The game will try to save your profile online at certain points in the game (example: After you quit or finish a level) if you are online the game will save automatically. If you don't have internet at the time the game will show a message asking you to try again or to cancel. Meaning you can play offline but if you don't save at some point and close the game all the progress you made won't be saved. So you have to be online to log in, but you can then play offline until you decide to stop. When you decide to stop go back online and trigger a save. If you are always online on the phone or computer then just play normally.
                    • Trading Center (Postponed for during the week)
                    • Transfer between profiles (Postponed for during the week)
                    • New pokemon for hunt and achievement (100%)
                      • Graphic (100%)
                      • Shiny Graphic (100%)
                      • Add this pokemon's stats to the game (100%)
                      • New move (1) (100%)
                    • New Evolution for hunt and achievement pokemon (100%)
                      • Graphic (100%)
                      • Shiny Graphic (100%)
                      • Add this pokemon's stats to the game (100%)
                    • Add Achievement (100%)
                    • Distribution (0%)
                      • Pokemon Tower Health (100%) - You will now notice a health bar on top of your towers. Right now none of the moves in the game will hit your pokemon. So this change really has no real meaning yet. In the future for "Advanced Mode" moves can hit your towers, and moves can heal your towers.
                      • Bug Fixes
                        • Making Staryu show up in the pokedex after you evolve it to Starmie (100%)

You might have noticed the new poll asking about Anonymous posting on the comments, the reason I have it there is because there has been a lot of spam lately and I wanted to see how the majority of you feel about the issue.

                                What's next? PTD progress list

Hey folks Sam here bringing you the weekly progress list. First the usual stuff.

Want to play Ninja-ja? Get a shiny pikachu, shiny mew, shiny starter or have your suggestion for a weapon design to be used on Ninja-ja? Click here for more info on how you can get those things.

Ninja-ja is on break this week, update will come next week.

We reached 3 MILLION views on Newgrounds recently, I'm still amazed at how big we have gotten, I mean 3 million on newground is not counting the views on the blog (463,109) and the views on all the other websites that have the game, so the number is a lot higher. I'm committed to finishing this game and letting you guys catch all the original 151 pokemon. So let's move forward together, with your support we can make this happen.

I wanted to say that this is a learning experience for Dan and me, we make mistakes just like everyone else. I will say that I regret giving out shiny abra and shiny charmander and that it won't happen again. The reason I'm not shutting down the charmander code is that it won't be fair that some of you got it while others didn't.

Also, I want to ask you guys if you have any suggestions to post them on our forum, the link is on the PTD Fan Links page, that way other players can comment on your suggestion and it's easier for me to find the ones that people are more excited about. My email is so full right now if you mailed me a suggestion there it might be a long time before you get a response.

Okay so on Saturday I asked "What would be the perfect update?" and boy did you guys have a lot of different answers. But a lot certain things keep coming up over and over. One you want a new story level, two you want new pokemon to catch, and three you want TMs. Most of you think the level cap is fine which I agree. A lot of you want a training level which I agree also. Some of you want a nugget bridge level and have many great ideas for it. So I will take all of these and bundle them up into this weeks update.

New Story Level (100%) - Nugget Bridge - Will Ash beat General Mewtwo? Did I really just beat Kyogre with two pokemon? What happened to Gary? All these answers and more on this level.

When beating the first Challenge Mode for the first time you will automatically receive the shiny geodude instead of having to insert a code to get him, you still only get one per save file. (100%)

If I finish these up early I will be adding more things to the update that I want to add, like more achievements and the achievement prizes.

As always keep coming back during the week to see the progress on the update, as always let me know what you think. Sam

Pokemon Tower Defense: v2.8 is out now! New challenge mode level, pokedex and achievements! Shiny hunt on hold. Perfect update week.

New update is out now, quick post and I will be leaving for the day.

Want to play Ninja-ja? Get a shiny pikachu, shiny mew, shiny starter or have your suggestion for a weapon design to be used on Ninja-ja? Click here for more info on how you can get those things.

                                  It includes:
                                  • New Challenge Mode Level (greatly inspired by forum member Zackirus, with music by Hank Winer)
                                  • Pokedex and Achievements
                                  • Bug Fixes
                                  Where can I play?
I think everybody out there has their own idea of what a perfect (but doable) weekly update would be. So why don't you let me know, but don't email me (I have plenty of emails!), post it on the forums http://s4.zetaboards.com/poketd so that everybody can see and comment on your individual suggestions (The comment space bellow is too hard to sort). If you guys come up with a good (doable) weekly update I will try to make it happen.
                                  Just a couple of rules:
                                  1. You can suggest a story level but don't suggest a storyline since I already have that set.
                                  2. You can suggest a challenge mode and design one if you want.
Let me know about level cap, new moves, tms, new achievements, and even tell me which shiny hunt pokemon I should give out.

Let's make it happen, let me know what you think of this update and let me know what your perfect, but doable, weekly update would be.

Hey everybody, this is a little late coming but better late than never.

Want to play Ninja-ja? Get a shiny pikachu, shiny mew, shiny starter or have your suggestion for a weapon design to be used on Ninja-ja? Click here for more info on how you can get those things.

The pokemon tower defense update is still happening, and here is what we have for you guys:
                                  • Final Touches and distribution (100%)
                                  • Challenge Level (greatly inspired by forum member Zackirus, thanks for the great idea!) (100%)
                                  • Adding some TMs to the pokemart (Postponed until a later update)
                                  • Bug fixed
                                    • Shiny starter mystery code not working on 3rd evolution starters. (100%)
                                    • Evolution Button: When pokemon is evolving during the level the game crashes. (100%)
                                    • Self-Destruct bug (100%)
                                  • Relearn only moves (ex. Thunder Fang for Arbok) (Postponed)
                                  • Pokedex/Achievements (you decide which one on the poll above) (100%)
For the New Feature I have added a short poll on the website, you guys get to decide which feature you would like first.
                                  • Pokedex/Achievements - A pokedex will be added to the game to keep track of who you saw and who you caught, also achievements will be added into the game for finding certain pokemon and completing certain task, like beating a level without losing candy.
                                  • Targeting System - Your towers will be able to target different units depending on what command you give your pokemon. For example, attack first, attack last, attack lowest health..etc.
                                  • Different Pokeballs - Be able to buy different pokeballs that will let you catch pokemon at higher percentages.
                                  • Trading Center - A place that you can search for trades being done by other players. Search by who you want in the trade or search by what you want to trade, all trades will be handled by the game so once both sides agree on the trade you will both get them immediately.
                                  Choose wisely :)

Also the last poll it seems like you guys want to keep trading, so trading will stay, in the future I might tweak things here and there but for now it stays like it is.

I also added two new tabs to the site called "Suggestions" and "Bugs" these will cover both games PTD and Ninja-ja, make sure you read them before you offer a suggestions.

The artist search is almost completed I sent emails to the top 9 applications that we received that fit into what our next game is going to be. Once they answer the emails we will pick from there. If you didn't get an email and you applied I just have to say thank you for even considering applying for the position, a lot of you had great art and we might contact you for a different game but for our next game we were looking for something very specific, some time this week I will send out a thank you letter to all who applied.

Thanks again for sticking around, the support is greatly appreciated. Let's continue on this journey! As always, let me know what you think.
