Porcinorci - battle report, part 1

On the French right the battle opened with both sides pushing forward mixed light cavalry
The Imperials came off the better, but the skirmishing is far from over.
The cavalry were followed into battle by the infantry. The Swiss, both pike squares up, are seen here advancing into a hail of deadly arquebus fire from a Spanish colonela - they rolled an 11 Vs a 1, taking out 3 unit integrity at a stroke.
On the Imperial left the Landsknecht and Spanish foot, supported by Genitors, go in hard against the French infantry.
A fire fight is developing, but the Gascon crossbow is no match for the massed troops of the Empire.
In the centre, the French Gendarmerie advances into the teeth of the oncoming Spanish.
This contest might well decide the day. Gendarmes, supported by artillery, taking on pike square.
It will be interesting to see how the rules work with this.

We only played a single turn of the battle last Wednesday night so there is plenty left in it. It will resume next Wednesday.

I have also been doing lots of work on the rules. In a couple of weeks I should have a play test version ready for those who want to check them out.

Happy Holidays!

I hope all of you have an out of this world Holiday

Sakis25 Games Store website gets a new look

I have just updated my Store website to a more simple and modern look.
Now there is more space for the games, easier navigation and also new game banners.
I hope you like it.

Check out the Store here: www.Store-Sakis25Games.com

Not the end of the world.... BUT....

I woke up this morning and the world is still here but the forum and shopping cart databases seemed to have come to an Apocalypse of their own :)

We are working on getting that fixed.

Unboxing of the beast

This is a HUGE kit, the box is 12"X10"X10"!

You can see by the use of stacking trays, foam and a vacuum formed insert, we have taken great care to protect your investment.

Enjoy!

The screws are used on ball joints and other components that need tension to work properly.
You can quite literally leave this kit poseable for months or years of play if you choose, the tension created by the ball joints is more than enough to have the kit retain its pose. At any point a drop or two of model cement will lock everything into a fixed pose, but until you decide exactly what pose you would like… you are free to play.

Watching the legs and torso move with working hydraulics is a pretty fun experience ;)

Stage 1 ship date

As of today we estimate stage one will arrive in the WGF Utah warehouse the last week of January.

I will have more pics to post as they come in from WGF China.

Here are a few shots of Ada, a Kickstarter special mini and the first of the female Stormtroopers to see plastic.

Cheers!
Mark

Some shots of the plastic and the current release schedule.

I am currently elbow deep in prepping stage three models for the Kickstarter, I must apologize for not being on top of my emails, as this aspect takes me away from the day to day operations.

I thought it would be best to give an expected release date here so that you have some frame of reference when these kits will be available for general purchase. The Kickstarter backers are my main priority but all the kits will hit the supply chain shortly after the backer’s items have been shipped.

I do not have retail pricing yet, and will likely not have them until each phase is ready to head out the door.

Ho ho ho! Santa Sam here bring you the gifts this holiday season! Today I released v1.28 of PTD2 and it includes the much anticipated Shiny Chimchar Mystery Gift!

Holidays
As many of you know the holidays can be extremely busy for everybody. I think one of the biggest challenges a person can deal with when making games is the balance of work and life. For a lot of developers work is their life but this can be a dangerous thing. For me personally I value loved ones a lot and I always try to give them priority when it comes to my time but the reality is that it is you guys that really make paying the bills possible so I value you too. Without you guys I wouldn't be able to do what I love as a living and for that you guys will always have my thanks.

This Week's Mystery Gift
I'll be bringing the same poll as last week back to decide the type of the next mystery gift, and then I will do a poll as to which specific pokemon from that type it will be. Go ahead and vote to decide the next mystery gift.

Bringing the towns to life!
This week I want to focus on the towns and cities of the game. I want to add violet city along with the bellsprout/onix trade and a harder rematch with Falkner that will be optional. Also Cherrygrove City will finally be restored and the people will be back in their houses. Maybe even a flower shop!

Creature Universe TD
Creature Universe is progressing nicely in the concept stage. As far as the game itself I'm still prototyping things so it's far from a release but I hope early next year we can start releasing something. These past weeks we have been trying to finalize names for the creatures we have revealed along with finalizing their colors. I'm also designing the first few levels of the game. The game will have at least 100 different creatures and over 40 different levels to play.

The Battle of Porcinorci - the set up

I have set up this fictional Italian Wars battle to test some rules in 'open field' situations. Consequently, the terrain has been set up to aesthetically form an amphitheatre in which the main action will take place.

The battle features armies with an identical (unless my mathematics are wrong) unit integrity point total. I have not tried to balance quality, but I don't think that the sides are too far off par. It will be interesting to see how the rules are working: there is nothing like a reasonably large battle on open ground to do that. Here are a few shots of the set up.

Spanish (left) and French (right) showing, in the foreground, the open flank beyond the ridge.
Spanish right: Light and heavy cavalry supported by two colonelas.
Spanish centre and left: Artillery, two colonelas, two 72 figure Landsknecht pike squares, plus a light sprinkling of cavalry.
French right and centre: French infantry (Gascons and Picard pikemen) and Gendarmes d'Ordnance supported by artillery.
French left: Swiss infantry (two blocks of 54 pikemen) supported by mixed light horse.
            Colonela and light cavalry.
            Massed pike.
            Swiss pike units 'coming up'.
            Gendarmes.
            Gascons and Picard pike.

Peter and I will fight this battle out next week.
